Any info on the AFW Amazon flying appreciated. Typical schedules? legs per night? Mostly backside of the clock flying? Out and back and home/rest during the day? Thanks.

It looks like out and backs, middle of the night flying from AFW to DSM, ABQ and OMA.

Silver Emerging Aviators

Hello Everyone,

I am an instructor at a Part 141 university and came across Silver's program. I would love to live in Florida and my ultimate career goal is a fractional carrier or business aviation. Would you recommend signing up for the program or looking at other airlines?

I don’t think we have many Silver pilots floating around here, but figured I would try anyway.

Is it possible to commute from the outstations? I realize cargo side is the most junior right now, but once you were able to hold a passenger line, would commuting from PNS or CHS be something that’s possible?

He was a very good pilot and did great coming to the CRJ200 flying his first 4 day trip out of JFK and the NE... I would have signed him off after the first trip but he was short 4 hours... Bonus for me because I was able to fly another 4 days with him... Word was he returned to South Korea with KAL on the 738, his father was a 330 Captain there... Judge pilots for their skills not the Company on the resume...

Unfortunately hiring departments at the better airlines usually incorporate a feed back system on new hire performance. If you are coming from Silver you will have a bigger hill to climb when it’s time to move on.

Anyone have updates on the rumored deal with AA? Curious if it goes through when that may start?

anyone have an email for pilot recruiting?

I'm not at Silver but from a friend who is:

AFW is the junior base. (Amazon ATR cargo flying). It is mostly all night flying, out and back. Meaning you are responsible for your own accommodation between work shifts unless you plan on moving there or already live there.
