If the New Zealander that got fired from xo jet is now at jet edge, stay far far away! Anytime the plane has a maintenance problem you will automatically be blamed for doing something wrong. Be prepared to be cursed at, screamed at and told how much you suck if you ever work under him. There is a reason he got let go from xo jet and everywhere else he worked! Unfortunately, he has a butt buddy at vista jet that moves him through the system whenever he starts fires.

Is it true that a big number of JetEdge Challenger pilots left recently due to schedules and other concerns?

VJ and the kiwi are absolute blights on private aviation. The fact that RH hasn’t been terminated from the VJ conglomerate after countless poops in the bed leads one to believe he’s got pictures of Flohr and Van der Meer doing unflattering things to livestock.

At this point there is very little that would surprise me about Vista.

However, I think it’s most likely that Vista has some shady financial/operational practices and RH is in the loop on some of it. Getting rid of the kiwi would make NV and TF vulnerable. Vista will continue to ruin jobs until their house of cards comes down or the FAA gets involved. Haha, who am I kidding? The FAA won’t get involved.

Happy Here

I've been with XO for a few years and just got transferred to Jet Select (dba JetEdge), I normally don't comment on boards (most people that are happy don't..lol) but I must say I strongly disagree with the overall sentiment on the thread. XO got a new President a couple of years ago and I find him to be really smart and genuine, plus he's a pilot so he understands our perspective. At XO he had open video calls every week for a year, and he took every single question.
He is taking over at JetEdge, and last week he announced a new simplified pay package. Basically $180K year one captain pay for CL300/350, plus 10 days of vacation that you can choose every year if you want to take or sell back to company for $10K, gives pilots option to choose which is cool. So if you take the pay then year one cut pays $190K, base. Plus 5% bonus year one. He also said they are now paying for training in the off block.
I'm super excited. My year 5 pay just went to $205K base plus 9% bonus, and they pay $15K retention bonus every three years, so I'll collect that next year and my 401K goes to $11K contribution from the company. I can also do extra days for $1200/day.
But it's not all about the pay, I love the unrestricted home base, great group of pilots, staying in full service hotels and keeping my hotel points. They are upgrading the entire fleet and the Gulfstream's look amazing with the sliver and red paint.
I was also told that you can bid for new type every 3 years! I'm going to bid for Global or G450.
I love it here. Very encouraging to see the fleet growth plus investment in the crews!, and they mentioned that they bought two more maintenance facilities in Europe last week!
Look at what is happening at UP, they seem to be in trouble.
If you are looking for a new spot to land I'd strongly suggest you consider the Vista group.

MHunter,

When you say “I normally don’t comment on boards”, that appears to be quite an understatement given this is your first post on THIS board (at least under this screen name). If you are legit, I’m glad you’ve had a positive experience. However, for myself and so many of my former colleagues, the experience was very, very different…and not in a good way. Only the fact that this is a pilot’s market allowed most to escape to better environs.

On the other hand, if you’re a management troll attempting to put lipstick on a pig, you can take your experience and…

Kinda like putting new paint on a G-IV?

I’m suspicious this is a mole. I just interviewed with the VistaJet (I applied to the JE side) and after the interview. they emailed me and wanted me to switch my application to the Red Wing side. I politely declined and moved onto the next interview with someone else.

If this is all legitimate, I am really happy to hear you are enjoying your experience there.

Sweet bearded (or tiny-infant, or teenage, or grown-up) Jesus, reading this is the typical HR scripture.

I'll get out of your office now (I won't even ask for a souvenir).

Looks like they have some home based options (SLC home base)
As well as an opening for SIC on a G200 out of SLC.
Curious to what pay, QOL, schedule, etc... are like.
Thank you!

I would consider very wisely before submitting an application there. They are now run by Vista Group which has a very poor reputation in the US. Since the new DO and CP have taken charge there, they've had over 60 pilot resignation which is about 1/3 of their entire pilot group, and parked over 20 aircraft because they simply aren't able to staff them. The atmosphere is extremely toxic, and they are the antithesis of a pilot-friendly company to work for. You will most certainly experience intimidation to do things beyond your safety comfort level.

Just read these forums and you'll get somewhat of a picture of how things are there. I'd also reach out via PM to some of these users and speak to them personally. They may be reluctant to put their thoughts out here on the forum, but they'll likely be more candid on a phone call.

If you do interview with the DO, here's a question you should ask: Why did you leave XO jet to work for Red Wing Aviation which seems like a pretty big step down for a Chief Pilot of a Global Fleet?
