Does Ameriflight have GPS in their planes? Or are they still using ADF's?

Both, we're getting GPSs' in the PA31s, Be99s, Metros and the airports that have NDBs with GPS overlays are getting the aircraft on those runs. Some places we still regularly use ADFs.

For AMF, no, not for new hires. The company is not opposed to giving you an ATP, but it depends on the situation. Checkrides in the PA31 and BE99 are generally conducted by company check airmen, and there may not be any check airmen who are also DPEs. However, if you are taking a type ride for one of the larger aircraft, and you meet all the requirements for an ATP (written and aero exp.), you would most likely be able to get the ATP. Basically, since you need to ride with a DPE anyway for the type rating, there's no additional cost to take an ATP ride at the same time.

I am fairly certain that AMF does not have any inention of making the ATP a requirement for being hired for the PA31- frankly, most people who have an ATP don't want to deal with flying a Chieftain!

Getting the type on a commercial cert makes a lot of sense for an AMF pilot who has the chance to upgrade to a large aircraft but doesn't meet all the minimums for an ATP.

please don't tell me you wouldn't fly for Ameriflight just because they don't have a GPS.... if you need a GPS everywhere you go, then you need to learn how to fly.
