I am sure these ?'s have been asked before, just looking for some info before applying. Years ago I ran cargo on the east coast. Backside of the clock and all, so i would guess the ops are very different.

What is a typical schedule?
Would it be difficult to get PDX as a new hire?
Once assigned a base can you be bumped out of it?
Does AMF provide a hotel at the outstation?
Year one takehome pay per month?

Thanks in advance for any answers

Portland is pretty full right now. After all the bids were awarded and everything was said and done, there are 3 pilots that do not have a hard run. They are floaters. There is also a new hire that is currently in the process of moving to Portland. That will make 4 extra pilots that will won't have runs this bid period.

As said throughout this thread......

Schedule (base depending) show am, fly for a bit, layover, fly back in the pm. done. rinse repeat.

Bumped out? only if the base looses a lot of flying.

Hotel, no. Depends on base. SLC, for the most part yes. OAK, no.

take home pay? APC has a great chart at the top right. airline profiles> cargo> ameriflight

He was asking for take home pay, not gross =P I would say probably count on $1700/mo.

As far as hotels / crew apartments, I have been given one at every layover I have been on. Out of Burbank it is mostly crew apartments.

Gotta run.

Yeah its packed. There is a big bid coming up, so with any luck PDX will thin out.

1. Schedule (average bepends on base, run ect.)

Bank Flight (junior)

7am show, get to hotel around 11am. stay at hotel during day
5pm pm show, get home around 8pm

UPS Flight (senior)

5:30 am show, get to hotel around 10am. stay at hotel during day
3pm show, get home around 5:30

2. I heard PDX is where there putting people. don't know why because where overstaffed. There is a lot of movement east so by the time the new guys get here it may be less populated.

3. If they assign you a base it us yours unless you bid something else. If they make you move unwillingly they will pay for any moving expenses.

4.most, if not all flights with over a 2 hour layover have a hotel or apartment.

5.expect $1700 month w/o an FO; with an FO expect about $1900 month.

Not accurate. Most UPS flight get in after 7PM. Some much later. DHL flights even later.

Not accurate. Most Chieftan bank flights get in closer to 9PM, some much later AND have very early starts (Not 7am)

Bank runs are also not always junior. There are a number of turbine bank runs.
