A training captain at AMF is sort of like an LCA at other carriers. Initial operating experience, line checks (135 equivalent) and eventually designee status. Pretty good deal if you are marking time waiting for the industry to get out of the doldrums.
BTW, AMF training catains also do some graound and sim training.

Ok, I have just recently put my application in and if I get hired, I would more than likely go to OAK. So my question is, what are the runs out of OAK like? I live in PHX so I will be commuting every week and I just want to know how much time I would be able to spend at "home".

Anyone here work for Ameriflight and based in DFW? What planes are based there and how do you like it? I live in Dallas and am sick and tired of my current job and am tired of commuting! I am really looking for a change in pace.

DFW has PA31's, outstation's are F05, PPA, and OKC, they one (1) BE99 as a reserve in DFW as well as one or two Metro's. The Bro's (Brasilias) are technically outstationed at Midland, Lubbock, and Amarillo and overnight in DFW. If you want time this is the place to go. A lot of double trips from UPS out there and you can easily build 1,000 hrs in a year.

The PA31's, Brasilias, and some Metros are outstationed and overnight in Dallas. The rest are Dallas based and I believe are reserve lines.
