Drug test first day of ground school. You should be more worried about getting shot at ground school, Ameriflight puts you up at the Ramada. The Gangsters Weekly gave it two Glocks up three terms in a row! Don't forget your Kevlar vest and sunscreen.

I hope you know that you just dont get drug tested once.... You can be drug tested several times. It's random testing once your on the line. Get out now before its too late. Drink this or do that wont help when you dont know when the next whiz quiz is.

Second hand smoke will not show up on drug tests. The concentration is just way way too small, even though you can smell it. Unless your roomate is smoking a cheech and chong style doobie in a tiny room that is air tight, no need to worry. Imagine all the people that would test positive if this were true that attended concerts......

I agree that you need to move out and that you shouldn't be around that stuff, BUT...
Unless you're actually partaking you won't test positive. Drug test "positive thresholds" are designed to not show a positive result with only a slight amount of drug in your body. For THC, the normal threshold is 50 ng/ml concentration in urine, and unless you've been sitting in a closed up closet for hours with him before the test I don't think you have anything to worry about. How do I know this? I had a roommate who smoked pot at one point and was VERY paranoid myself. Did a lot of reading.
But, when it comes to your career don't even take the slightest risk with this. Get out of there long before you need to take any tests.

My efforts to work in commercial aviation (ground side) have suffered several setbacks because of situations similar to what you're talking about. What to do about it- well, your guess is as good as mine.

whether or not second hand smoke shows up on a drug test, I'd still get the hell out of there.
What if it does show up??? you'll be one of the 1%...Got too much invested in this profesion, I'm not going to be a guinea pig. I'll let someone else test that theory, the "second hand smoke don't show up on drug test" theory

Unless you are sitting right next to your roommate inhaling the smoke, you won't get stoned and you won't test positive.
As far as medicinal marijuana, it is called Marinol and comes in 10mg tablets. It is prescribed for cancer patients that are experiencing extreme nausea and loss of appetite. I have never heard of it prescribed in a smoking form. I think your roommate might be full of $h!t that telling you it is prescribed.

I was the anti-drug program manager for an aviation business until a few months ago. Yeah, the secondhand stuff can show up in your urine, yes it can show up on a blood test, and you will never know if your roomies slipped something into the brownies or whatever. But don't take some idiot's opinion from the internet, call up the folks that do the testing (Norton Medical is a big one) and get your answer there.
Unless the guy is dying of cancer or in the end stages of glaucoma, the medicinal BS is pure BS. Even if the guy has those medical conditions, if the Feds show up on your doorstep, you will be arrested, too, aiding and abetting.
All and all, it is a nice way to watch a career go down the toilet and you didn't even get to partake in any of the "fun" of being a stoned loser.
