While I don’t know if BTQ has A062, I wonder how their SICs log time. I would assume that an SIC is required by their GOM, and thus legally required crew per 135.21, however I know with certainty that they use A015 to fly single pilot with autopilot, which means they don’t have a stipulation for SICs in their GOM. There is no ‘multi crew’ Op Spec that existed prior to A062, to my knowledge.

I checked our op specs and we do have A015. We DO NOT have A062. However, our GOM does state we are NOT allowed to conduct A040 Single Pilot Ops, but since we have an auto pilot we are able to fly single pilot per A015. Seems confusing but wanted to tell you what the GOM says.

It certainly does. GOM compliance is required per 135.21. The question you should ask is ‘Could this flight depart legally if the SIC didn’t show up?’ If the answer is yes, SIC can’t log the time. If the GOM says an SIC is required and he doesn’t show up, the flight cannot legally depart as it would be a violation of 135.21 (a).

They don't give 135.297(g) rides though, so IFR pax flying is SIC required.

Yeah, the first and third sentence kind of cancel each other out. Everyone logs it, even though I'd say it could be interpreted either way.
I don't see it ever being a problem, it's a real SIC job with real duties and not some Caravan "SIC" nonsense.
