Default CFI and student

Anyone on here have any experience balancing being a CFI and a full time college student? Is this do-able?

Absolutely

You batch your classes to certain days or times and work other times.

That said… 24 hours in the day. No such thing as work-life balance. There are work-life choices. You make them and they have consequences. You will have less time to spend on friends, extracurriculars etc. but college offers lots of time outside class.

I’m doing it right now, it’s definitely doable. Lots of people have jobs in college, ours is just flying airplanes. You just have to know your limits and be able to balance flying with school, social life, etc.

Sure many people do it and have done it and will continue to do it. Don't expect a full work load and you don't want too many students where you're doing them a disservice by having limited availability.

My friend did it. His college grades suffered and he had to change majors to something less challenging than the one he was in (STEM related).

I did it during college, I maintained a 3.8 so it’s doable. I kept my student load to about 2-3 full time students and the occasional BFR and introduction flight.

I did exactly the same. Had no issues at all. But I was a business major ... LOL.

Yep! Just set your schedule. Or just take on two dedicated students. You can get about 500 hrs/yr while getting the 4-yr. I did.
