This is the only way I can see it working in the long term. The first year pay is paying for the type rating and training as is. I don't think the Regionals will see this as a big deal... At least I hope not...

An update; the regionals have now started incorporating what they call the "CATP" training into their new hire courses. You get hired, go through the sim training then take the ATP written. I believe this was the intent of the law in the first place.
I have not yet seen any viable options for 135 or 91 guys.

Agreed with the above. I'm currently taking Embry Riddle classes online and it costs as much as the University near my house. I also have an aerial survey job now so I'm traveling a lot and don't see home until June. So, get the degree while you go out and fly. Complete the course work on your own time and schedule.
