With that being said, are you going to stare at a probable pay raise, more min days off, and no interface or a predictable interface and turn your nose up at it? I know I won't, so I guess in a mock vote we are 50-50 already.
Do you accept the first number the dealer throws you when you buy a car? o_O

No, and I'm sure the negotiating committee didn't. We're not in the same position that someone buying a car is in.

We’re not? I thought they wanted to have a total of 900 pilots by the end of the year and we’re at 715 with the new list. Only gaining 15-20ish a month. Also, where are all the captains? Regardless, why are Endevaor pilots worth more?

The slow growth has its roots in our training capabilities. Otherwise it is reasonable that we could have 40 a month in class or more. No reason to offer the EDV-type rates yet. EDV only got those rates because they couldn't attract anyone and the success rate with their psuedo-interview Delta thingy sucks.

Correct.

First. A person buying a used car is nowhere near a valid analogy for a labor group voting on a TA. It's a completely ignorant comparison.

Second, as far as leverage goes, the company has no problem getting new hire FOs. They've learned, like most of the airlines have, that pouring money into recruiting efforts has a much higher ROI than does large, contractual pay increases across both FO and CA payscales. Piedmont is filling classes, in spite of having to wait several months for an Indoc class, several months for a systems class, and up to a couple of months for sims.

We're not going to see huge pay increases until PDT starts having trouble retaining pilots that are already on property and/or can't hire the number and quality of pilots they need. Neither of those are a reality right now.

All the more reason to vote down anything but a great TA. Yes they are still attracting pilot candidates, but we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel. It’ll be empty soon enough.

To me the simple question is.
Will QOL be on par with the rest of the industry? If yes then I’ll vote yes. If no then I’ll vote no.

I am not greedy but 11 days off when everyone else is 13+ is bs.

Our schedules are built and pushed by incompetent management. They can be far more efficient and Salisbury chooses to lie and say it’s just what AA gives us... So trip rigs will make them get educated.

Interface and how they blatantly create 14 day off lines with the first week of the month off every time is their way of saying FU pilots.

This. FU to the pilots and airline industry, where normally seniority rules.

But here, number 1 on the list can have the same quality of life as a guy 150 spots below them. Unacceptable!

Even worse, you could have bid a 15 day off line, taking some late or early trips or bad overnights or something you don’t prefer, to get 15 days off....only to be interfaced, and have 11 days off, AND a worse schedule than number 150.

If scheduling was honest and built 150, 11 day lines, at least you wouldn’t get blind sided and couldn’t your pick of the litter there.

Interface needs to be fixed, sure. But at least stop lying to us with the faux 13-15 days off lines, that is just rubbing salt in the wound, that’s just wrong.

Can’t you just bid a transition conflict where you fly 5-6 days with carry over into the next month and then bid a line that starts on the first day of the month. Or does PDT literally not offer any lines thy start on the first of the month?

You’re kind of forcing their hand then so you have at least some control of how things will shake out at the start of the month.

If you're in the "vote yes because otherwise we won't get anything" group, you're a moron. Sorry, had to be said.

If you want to vote yes because you're fine with settling for less than your worth and/or don't think you're worth much, then whatever I guess. Not worth the time spent arguing.

I think if we get a bad offer then it's time for a vote of no confidence. We've been at that point for a while now in my opinion. If we don't, those who stay will just have to accept that they didn't push back against management and it is what it is.

I am not okay with accepting an insulting offer and continuing down this path. You shouldn't be either
