Weird, plenty of check airmen with 5000 plus hours, updated resumes, letters of rec from good people not getting the nod.... makes me think it isn’t as easy as some make it out to be. I personally won’t settle for anything less than the BIG 3, because I’ve got less than two years to go. Would be really dumb to go anywhere else.
Maybe you were sent to us by the grace of god Mr DEC, but unless you know the secret that these quality candidates don’t.... I wouldn’t be so sure of yourself. Unless you will go somewhere that isn’t UAL/DAL/AAG

The 5 year flow for new hires is currently a mathematical impossibility at current rates (6/ month baseline). Losses would have to Average 11.5/ month for all 60 months for a 5 year flow.
Approximate # of pilots above the last person hired for the year before they flow (rounded to the nearest 10).

With the current flow rate, NHs will be on property for as much as 11 years before their turn arrives. It makes sense for them to get out to a LCC et al as soon as possible. With 2nd year LCC rates above 12 year CA rates at PDT plus retirement, there’s almost no scenario where they can make up the lost career earnings but waiting to flow.
