Explaining that it would take a year for you to complete training and consolidate would not be a problem.. many have left and have done just fine.. this isn't 10 years ago when lateral moves or any move unless to a legacy was viewed as verboten.

United just took four jet blue pilots still in training..

I know quite a few people that have done this without any issues whatsoever. Get with times, and quit fear-mongering...

I was told specifically by a recruiter at YX that I had to finish training first, or they wouldn’t take me. Regardless of reality, the appearance would be of trying to avoid a training failure. So I finished, and then moved...

It will certainly be a issue for getting hired at a major airline. You will need a very good explanation and some documentation.

For what it’s worth I know a guy that tried to get hired at Endeavor, but because he left his previous regional prior to completing IOE, they wouldn’t even interview him.
