The interview is straight forward, not many surprises, the gouges are all over, and are extremely accurate, so look them up, print them out, and study what they say. For the written portion, I studied the ATP gleim, and the yellow, "Everything explained for the professional pilot" book. I was the first one finished and I got in there late. The sim is silly really, if you don't know your instrument stuff, he will know, but if you do, it's a walk in the park. So if you haven't been under the hood lately, get on FlightSim and shoot some approaches, and how to enter a hold. The HR portion is actually kinda fun, you get to know the guys, and talk about yourself, Bob Trout is great to talk to, they just want to see if your normal. They will offer you the job right there.

I would rate the training as semi-difficult, no one washed out of ground in our class of 10, but we did loose 3 or so during Sim. The sim does push everyone to their limit of what they can do. And you need to be able to go in there every day, for 4 hours at a time and at odd hours, and perform.

As for working for them... I like it so far!!! Good luck!

The interview now is much different than when I did it three years ago, so I'm not much help there. As for training:
GI Joe's stuff is right on. Ground is fairly easy, but a lot of the stuff you learn will be vital for passing the sim. Be sure to get all the home study stuff down pat before you head to training. A few guys washed out of sim in my class too. Make sure you study your profiles and callouts and get them down before your first session in the box.

As for the company, it's so-so. Airplane is great, I miss flying it. Travel benefits are some of the best in the regional industry, I miss them most of all. I usually have to pay a lot more to travel international now, and I can't get ZED tickets at most of the carriers I could there. But that's just if you travel abroad a lot...

I just talked to a friend there who is finally upgrading after 3.5 years. So not the best upgrade, but I think they are finally speeding up again. There is also talk of new planes, but that's been going on since I was there. Pay is great for turboprops, but I'll make more during my second year here than a piedmont F/O makes in their fifth year there. First year pay is good though, so it's a good place to build hours if you need them to go to another regional.

Good luck to you, hope your interview goes well!
