Closing up shop in the next few months? Hadn't heard that one (though I don't read every thread on these forums), but I'm sure you know of SYR closing and what that means for the near future. Why don't you tell us what you know, since you work there, instead of asking people from other companies about what's going on at your company?
Oh, and I think most of us know that PDT flies the turboprops for USAir... if someone didn't, you wouldn't want their advice about the topic anyway.
I realize I may have just sounded a little harsh... didn't mean to, but oh well.

haha.. wow.. way to go PDT! its nice to see first year pay at a regional that just about meets and in some cases exceeds (I'm looking at you US Airways) that of all the legacy carriers.. maybe the compensation in this industry is starting to turn around..

So are those rates amendable in 2009 with the rest of the contract?
The reason the rates were voted down the first time was because the company wanted to lock them in for 6 years, effectively capping what ALPA would be able to negotiate for the -100/-300 rates when the contract becomes amendable in 2009. Not good, especially when you look at Horizon's rate being $10 more NOW (looking at 10-yr CA).

no, pdt has always had good first year pay (that's why some of us came here instead of accepting sub-par wages somewhere else), it doesn't mean anything for industry pay turning around...pilots would have to smarten up and not accept crap pay/contracts first, and that wont happen...even these rates pdt is putting out isn't enough, for us or anyone for that matter...it's not where it should be for the job we at the regionals do

yes those rates are good through our next contract as well, so they're locked in for a looong time. they can put those payrates in the contract right next to the shiny RJ rates that we have too. until we get an order, i'm not getting too excited.

That sucks. I talked to one of the LEC reps and he was pretty ****ed about that the first time. Looks like it happened anyway.
ex-Piedmonster here, so very interested to see how it turns out...
