Show who the medical records? You shouldn't be having to show anyone anything.

1) Something you provide, or authorize.
2) Non-HIPAA data such as disability payments from other federal branches (VA, SSA).
If you're involved in an incident they can of course get court orders for probably anything they want. But I think fishing expeditions are limited to #2. I don't think they can access your medical records from other fed branches (DoD, VA) without a warrant, due to HIPAA. Not 100% on that though.

HIMS catch 22
I retired a year ago from a part 121 carrier and was in the HIMS program. I was in the advanced phase of my SI and submitted my request to FAA for my medical records to be sent to my new HIMS AME so he could continue my monitoring etc. I never received my records and I retired before I had my new HIMS AME approved by FAA. My medical was withdrawn and I am attempting to get a class 3 for now. I am working with my new HIMS AME and I am doing random testing. The FAA contacted me in Jan. requesting a update status report from my AME which we submitted. Q: If my medical is approved will I have to start the program over i.e. phase one? I was "un-monitored" after I retired despite notifying the FAA 2 months prior to the actual retirement date and because of paperwork delays I never had a "seamless" transition to my new HIMS AME... thanks for any input

I don't think they can see anything, except...
1) Something you provide, or authorize.
2) Non-HIPAA data such as disability payments from other federal branches (VA, SSA).
