Can they put you in Hims if they learn you were intoxicated when you broke an arm playing around with a friend 4 years ago when you show them your medical records?

Show who the medical records? You shouldn't be having to show anyone anything.

Has Harvey watt put anyone down as unfit to fly if they found an alcohol use note on the doctors note when you visited the hospital for a broken arm a long time ago?

Does the FAA have a way to see all my medical records or are they just seeing my insurance history

I don't think they can see anything, except...

1) Something you provide, or authorize.
2) Non-HIPAA data such as disability payments from other federal branches (VA, SSA).

If you're involved in an incident they can of course get court orders for probably anything they want. But I think fishing expeditions are limited to #2. I don't think they can access your medical records from other fed branches (DoD, VA) without a warrant, due to HIPAA. Not 100% on that though.

Default HIMS catch 22

I retired a year ago from a part 121 carrier and was in the HIMS program. I was in the advanced phase of my SI and submitted my request to FAA for my medical records to be sent to my new HIMS AME so he could continue my monitoring etc. I never received my records and I retired before I had my new HIMS AME approved by FAA. My medical was withdrawn and I am attempting to get a class 3 for now. I am working with my new HIMS AME and I am doing random testing. The FAA contacted me in Jan. requesting a update status report from my AME which we submitted. Q: If my medical is approved will I have to start the program over i.e. phase one? I was "un-monitored" after I retired despite notifying the FAA 2 months prior to the actual retirement date and because of paperwork delays I never had a "seamless" transition to my new HIMS AME... thanks for any input

they can access the DOT NDR. Never give them access to anything, much like flying if they knew how they would be working as a Pilot. If they were actually good enough to be a Doctor, they would be practicing medicine. Do Not give the information that they don't have access to.
