Great for you. Keep us informed on your progress. BTW, what size pants did you start out out and what are you now?
Started out in a size 48 pants, now wear a size 36. Just put on the old interview suit last night and none of it fits. Good thing I bought it at Mens Wearhouse. I still like the encouragement. My mind still weighs 296. My body doesn't, but I still think like I'm huge.

I had to throw exercising into the mix and I still try to walk every day that I'm home ( bike riding is my favorite...)
The exercising is one of the keys. I actually enjoy exercising now, since I can without it killing me. The other key is portion control. I still eat most of what I like, I just don't eat near as much of it. I still go to Taco Bell, Fazolis, and other favorites. I just make better choices. I've actually learned a lot more about how to eat properly with weight watchers than I ever did before. I think it is a subject that is sorely undercovered in school.

Default I'm in!!

Two years ago, I lost 70 pounds. I'm 5'9", weighed 260 and went down to 190, within 10 pounds of my goal. I had a great food and exercise routine and simply got out of it. I gained 40 pounds back, and just started back into my routine. Today I'm 231 and looking to get down to 180. I did 20 minutes of weights this morning and 50 minutes of cardio.

Good luck to all, especially ME.

I'll go on record here and say we should never be hesitant to share what works with others.

After the skydiving season was over, I realized that I had gained a ton of weight. Sitting all day everyday, drinking ungodly amounts of beer at the end of the day and eating terribly.

I started working out and eating better as of Nov. 1, and I will join in.

Starting stats: 285 lbs, 6'5". Pants = 38" waist (with a little gut over it), 54" chest. Bench Press = 315lbs, Sqaut = 455lbs, 8:30 mile.

Now heres the goal: 240 lbs, 34" waist, loose a little in the chest (they are not quite man-boobs, but they still scare me...) and a 7 minute flat mile. I only posted my lifting abilities because it is important for me to do all of that without loosing any strength.

I am also looking for suggestions.

Heres what I have been doing: Run an average of 3 miles a day. Spend about 1.5 hours a day in the gym working out. I have not been increasing my lifts at all, just to make sure that they aren't gaining me any weight in muscle, but burning fat and toning out. My diet is anything that is low fat, low carbs and high protien, 2000 calories per day and 3 gallons of water. At my activity level, I figure i am burning 3200 cal/day.

Now I am not being impatient, but over the course of the last month, I have only lost 9 lbs and it seems to be slowing down.

Any suggestions?

hey aviviii you drop jumpers out of that otter? are you in the North east by chance?

Losing 9 lbs in 1 month is actually a healthy loss. A loss 2 lbs a week is considered healthy. Don't get down on yourself, just keep at it.

3 gallons of water PER DAY???? That sounds like a bit much.

Count me in, Mike.
I'm 6'2" and about 255. I would like to get down to 200. I'm currently a 39" waist. Would love to fit into a 34 again and have the confidence to take my shirt off at the beach again.
I'm starting tonight.

Yes I do. Yes I am.
That's good to hear, I never really bothered with loosing weight, I was always OK with where I was until now. The thing with the water, especially while exercising, I tend to get dehydrated, so a long time ago, my doctor recommended 2gal/day, but I have this thing for ice water, so yeah, its more than needed....

cool , i did a few jumps out at skydive the ranch in upstate ny about 2 years ago (jumped the otter plenty of times). I gave up on skydiving though, it got a little boring. I still have all my equipment which I should sell soon.

Mike, looks like you've got a whole lot of support! Gluck to everyone.
