Are travel benefits for you and your family available right from the beginning at PSA or only after flow to AA?
The PSA promo video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG2mpMndhD8 at 2:29 mentioned travel privileges only after flow. Can someone confirm?

We have the same benefits as mainline, and are really good.
Travel benefits start about 2 weeks after you start training for you, your significant other, any kids/dependents, and your parents. Plus, buddy passes. And, if you are on property by July 1st, you get 2 round trip positive space tickets (guaranteed seats) to anywhere that AA flies.

As of right now, only those that want to bypass are bypassing. Some are willing to take the first available upgrade, others are waiting until they can hold a line in the base of their choice.
It will be awhile until people are bypassing for time. Probably another 6 months.

Almost everyone I know say to upgrade ASAP or your an idiot. I say upgrade when you feel like you should your only loosing out on the pay increase and PIC. To some they don't care about the money and/or PIC time.

I know of a few that are bypassing to be able to hold CLT. I know one is waiting until he can hold R1 for family reasons.

I think that PSA will be one of the more stable companies if that happens, but it is important to be in a good place when the music stops. For me, that would be left seat, even if it meant commuting. Others would rather be in base and holding a line. It is just personal preference.
What will get you to your end goal in the best way for your situation? Whatever that is, do that.

Take the upgrade and deal with the ramifications of being in the left seat. Like you say, when the music stops its best to be in the highest paying position you can be in.

I'm asking because I'm just trying to decide if buying browns for my upcoming interview is pointless if I'll never get to wear them again with my uniform (if I get hired.) Don't want to waste the money otherwise.
Thanks in advance.

Completely unrelated....I figure black shoes are pretty standard for pilots. Are brown shoes authorized (as in a brown that would look good with navy uniforms.)
