I'm fresh off of IOE as well. There are a couple of lines I wouldn't mind getting on the round 2 bid. When we bid for Round 2 line(s), do we bid for just the line we're interested in, or do we bid for multiple lines, hoping that our seniority gets us at least one of the lines we bid for?

If there are 11 lines to bid, the top 11 seniority pilots are lineholders

I recall reading the current SCR and LCR times for new hires by base but I am now having trouble finding the post/thread.
If anyone would post a link to that information it would be appreciated. I'll be attending training next month and am looking at bases based upon commuting from OKC.
Thanks.

Right now, reserve times in CVG/DAY/DCA are about a month, about 6-8 months in CLT (something like that).
Attrition is staying at a good and steady rate, and we are upgrading about 25 a month, so reserve time has been, and should remain, short. As more 700's come on property, that should increase the number of lines (especially in DCA), and will help keep the reserve time and upgrade time short.

The union leadership has failed big time by letting the arbitration(we were never going to win) drag out forever. They should of worked something out with the company regarding added rules to reserve grid buffers and modifying critical pay when the conflict begin in the fall of 2014.
Meanwhile, the pilot group has been waiting 2.5+ years for this arbitration decision that we are not going to win. We are losing QOL with the current reserve grid buffer policy and loss of potential earnings with the watered down critical pay
There's no language in the contract regarding reserve grid buffer rules, so there's no way the union can win this. An arbitrator can not rule on language that does not exist. That's why we are still waiting after 2.5 years. We have good critical pay language but the critical pay is based on the reserve grid buffers. The only good option for the union is giving up a little bit of the critical pay language in order to get reserve grid buffer rules.

Thanks for bringing that up

We talked at great length during the trip and came to the conclusion something has to break during the upcoming holidays. We both agreed that we could very well see trip locks on trips touching Christmas and Thanksgiving. He says it's unrealistic to think the company will let SAP happen.
Don't get me wrong. If I have the chance to SAP out of Christmas and Thanksgiving I will. I also look forward to SDO and CCP pay if I choose. However, I also see the possibility of something drastically changing.
He voiced this concerns back during the original contract road trips that this whole CCP, SDO, & non-restricted SAP was bad for everyone.

The company covered Christmas last year just fine. They dished out money to solve the problem which is fine by me.

As long as critical pay is tied to the reserve grid, the reserve grid will always be changing on a hour by hour bases.
I would have no problem giving up the reserve grid trigger for critical pay if the company agreed to set the buffers once a month at a "reasonable" level and not touch them until the next month. Junior mans trigger critical days and the company can still "elect" to declare days critical.
