CVG is (was) in our CRJ-200 sim. Mostly high altitude maneuvers: Dutch roll, region of reverse command (sort of), stalls.

You have the benefit there of being paired with PSA sim instructors, but mostly it is focused on the ATP/CTP materials. The real benefit is getting to touch switches and sit in the 200 before indoc so you're not just looking at the "paper tiger" guessing where everything is. I don't think the ATP/CTP sims are really even a graded event, just a "check-the-block."

During the ATP-CTP training, are you free to study for the ATP written in the evenings? Guessing the course keeps you busy during the day, but what about evenings? Do they give you work to study each day? Or is it open to concentrated on the written? Thanks!!

The course itself doesn't have much to do with the written at all. I'd start with Sheppard Air a few weeks before you start.
