I will say I never saw any racist stuff at PSA. Toxic stuff yeah but never racist stuff. I flew with captains that were white, black, Asian, female, male, gay, who knows. I flew with fo’s just the same. Toxic Environment yeah but not racist.

As an aside to the last paragraph, I can honestly say that it’s the instructors who have a ‘god complex’ that usually act like this. It is such complete and utter bullshxx and I’m tired of it. Some of the worst instructors I’ve had were the ones with a god complex, and there’s no shortage of them at psa. They seem to think they know everything under the sun and they can never make mistakes. Yet when they make mistakes, and they do, they will try to cover their rear end, and it makes students lose all respect for them. It’s this kind of mentality that kills CRM and has caused fatal accidents in the past.
this is either an ISTJ or ESTJ personality type. They are skillful but also unable to admit they’re human and unable to see their own fault.

"Toxicity is the degree to which a chemical substance or a particular mixture of substances can damage an organism. Toxicity can refer to the effect on a whole organism, such as an animal, bacterium, or plant, as well as the effect on a substructure of the organism, such as a cell or an organ such as the liver"

1. poisonous.
"the dumping of toxic waste"
2. very harmful or unpleasant in a pervasive or insidious way.
"a toxic relationship" - kind of like some people on here.

Blame.
I’ll mention a few things things that I hope
new folks can ponder. Not PSA specific.
1). Glass time ( scan ) is a very important prediction on how well you initially perform in CRJ sim.
2). Relentless study prior to training. Flows callouts. You do not have time to learn once ‘IN’ 121 sim training ( usually an aggressive schedule).
3). Some instructors are better than others. you play with the cards dealt (within reason). Put personalities aside, all business.
4). It’s not for everybody. Some people don’t find this out until well invested in this career.
5). If you make mistakes. Own them. If you need help, ask for it. Don’t turn the exercise into blaming a company/ instructor/ weather / etc. for where you are. Usually it come from a lack of personal responsibility for the material.
6). There is an end, keep your eye on the prize.
121 programs are generally the same. Been through a couple regional / 1 major. Good luck.

As some others have expressed, it’s a partially true, but dramatic and overblown in this case. I witnessed several really difficult and unprofessional attitudes in the training department here, but most of my instructors were courteous, professional and helpful. Training was tough and not always fun, but I and most of my class made it through training with no failures. 25 out of 29 in my class made it to the line. That seems reasonable to me at a regional.
Flying here post-training here has been great for the most part. I’ve really liked the pilot group at PSA. Most guys and girls I’ve flown with have been standard, friendly and willing to answer questions and teach me things. I’ve enjoyed my time here.
