I'll be the first to say this is of course strictly rumor, no real source but....

With the USA/AA merger most likely being announced on Tuesday. Lets toss around the idea of the new company deciding to merge PSA and Eagle.

Eagle is obviously short staffed and not finding enough pilots to cover its want of 500 pilots this year. It just so happens that PSA has just over 500 pilots. I don't see any furloughs being needed at all. With people flowing to the new AA (either by the all ready in place flow agreements or a new one) they could even continue with the plan of parking 50 seat jets without the need to furlough anyone.

This may sound crazy but i feel like there has to be at lest one merger between the wholly owned regionals of the soon to be new AA.

If we are so short staffed why are we paying CAs and FOs to sit at home and do nothing but wait for training in July

heard because training backlog and NO instructors, plus FOQ's priority to get them done before august. Throw current training, PC's, Loft's and the usual peeps failing requiring additional training.

thats why they are sitting at home until july.

unless they make a deal to trade 200's for 7/900's.

And LCC owns part of Mesa, with a large chunk of the rest belonging to Bombardier. Seeing the connection this could be where Bomba gets the planes for a swap deal and allows Dougie to take JO out of the picture.

He already had that chance.

Would you care to elaborate on when/what that chance was?

When Mesa was in BK. Doug P could have pulled the contract. Their performance was in the toilet. But he decided to buy 10% and keep them around. Why would he let them go now?

Now Dougie could use is ownership, which I believe has grown from the intial 20% along with favorable terms with Bomba to take Mesa's 700/900s and upgrade a Merged PSA entity. Dougie get bigger RJ's on a wholly owned and Bomba actually makes an ROI on those planes financing sooner.

BTW the only reason Mesa survived BK was MAG ALPA raising a stink over merging with Skywest and how many pilots they were willing to take.

Why do I feel like PSA is the town _____! Eagle, Mesa, PDT, etc...

I'm surprised that our MEC (PSA) hasn't reached out to the Eagle MEC. With the AA/ US merger imminent, you would think that they would want to map out a strategy. Currently, all ALPA US Express carriers have a committee where they meet to discuss issues and try to prevent whipsaw. I think it's important to get Eagle on board with this committee.

I don't understand. Your posts are quite intelligent and you have a picture of Irion Maiden's plane on your avatar, yet your screen name is Texas pilot. Shouldn't you be listening to country and calling people ya'll!? Shoot!
