It's not a problem of not finding new hires. Classes have been nearly full. Right now it's two class of 16-18 bringing the total to 32-36 new hires a month. The number will increase even further. The current shortfall is more on the captain side caused by the training department tripling in size and taking captains offline to instruct in the sims. Almost 100 FOs have been added since November, once the situation works itself out we will be overstaffed for a short time until the 900s start arriving.

Liar.

The most recent bid, which I think was published on Tuesday had 32 new hires.

Although I don't know why I am responding to RJP.

My favorite is the eagle guys who say "we're being offered the exact same TA as you guys". Really? PSA was never offered a 4 year pay freeze across the board like eagle. You guys love to leave that little bit out. In fact, we're all getting a contractual raise in April.

The reason we were offered a freeze was specifically because, according to our management, we had to match PSA. That's what they have told us repeatedly. They literally want to lower our pay because you guys have such low pay. They remind us all the time it is because of you. Have a nice day!

PSA has hired over 100 pilots in the last six months. The training department has roughly tripled in size after adding two former comair sims in CVG. Several captains became full-time sim instructors as a result. The captains leaving the line combined with 117 has caused PSA to be short on the captain side not lack of new-hires. FOs are upgrading and working as ground instructors, causing PSA to be short there as well. Again, it's growing pains and part 117, not lack of new hires like Eagle and Expressjet. Currently PSA is upgrading 16 a month and if anything that number will increase. You can speculate all you want, but these are the simple facts. Just about everyone that has received an interview with Airways through the special selection process is getting hired.

If anyone is considering PSA and has questions, feel free to send me a PM.

A lot of us NO voters are taking everything day by day. Because of the SAP and the 117 many 8 year captains are going to gross six figures this year.
We aren't happy about the TA but making the most of it. Next month critical pay comes into effect (April). Then the opportunity to make more money is available.

I use this website to research and provide helpful info to others, nothing more. I don't need to inject my opinion all over the place, just the facts that I believe could be of use to others.
