JT8D- It might be time for you to find another line of work that makes you happy. Life is not about making money or flying heavies across the pond. You haven't even been flying 121 for a decade yet and you already seem completely miserable. It is ironic that you make so much fun of PSA pilots and yet you voted in concessions just a few months earlier except you guys were not smart enough to get all the 900s and 175s orders guaranteed to you in writing as part of the CH11 contract, that is your bad. Next time get it writing or don't vote yes for concessions, even if it is in Ch11. I would take the PSA contract, even with the 12/4, over the Mesa, Compass, Envoy (especially w/your soon to be crappy PBS), and even SKW "contract" due to the awesome SAP rules of which you don't seem to understand. But go ahead and be miserable and type all day long on APC about how you got screwed while life passes you by.

Along the same lines, team Tony was a group of bumbling idiots who screwed up virtually everything related to the bankruptcy TA. As for my part, I made sure my opinion was made abundantly clear to them and later helped to purge our MEC of their remnants. |

I'm telling you the REALITY of the situation. PSA was significantly more vulnerable to a shutdown than Eagle was. Pure numbers tell us that. 61% of PSA either believed that AAG was not bluffing, or that they needed to secure their job for the next 10 years. 10 Years guaranteed probably 50 guys on the list a job until retirement, or very close to it and guaranteed another 50 to be over at mainline within a year, or less. Everyone likes to say how inept mgmt is with "DUI Douggie" et al. Truth is they certainly are not. They knew exactly what to put in our deal to get the vote they needed. The extra 10% who also voted yes was just icing. As far as further whipsaw against PSA....Well, that isn't going to happen for 30 CRJ 200s. No one would bid on them, maybe AWAC, but we do it cheaper than what they could bid anyway. If anything they could park them, but I already discussed why that isn't likely to happen in the near future. Also, do you work at a regional? The real topic of bored conversation is what keeps AAG from banging on your door again over the next 9 years? They are banging on Eagles right now half way through a contract. Your company’s actions make you seem like any easy cost savings target. I don’t, I was offered a job on the spot at the first one that interviewed me, and quickly realized I was not ready at home with daycare and other schedules worked out so I canceled my other interviews. I stay current and hope to re apply when I am ready. If your SAP is as good as you make it out I may even call you for a rec. :) |

Thanks but no. And the entire premise of your argument is fundamentally flawed. As I stated earlier, I would give no grief to a PSA pilot who had voted no and worked to alienate themself from the undercutting wh0res at that company.

So why do you spend so much energy on PSA? What about Mesa, who is setting up shop in DFW and LAX here soon. Or Compass and their new Eagle 175s who wussed out and agreed to binding arbitration for their last contract instead of actually negotiating for an industry leading contract. And lets not forget about Republic and all their new 175s (yes I know they voted the TA down but they still agreed to work there under that contract). Or why not get your on Envoy house in order before judging other FFD contracts? Seems like PSA would be the least of your worries as you would be better off with the PSA contract than many of the other Eagle carriers. But at least you voted no to the Ch11 contract, I can respect that. Your guys definitely screwed that one up, you should have had those aircraft coming to Envoy as part of the deal.

PSA is great! Check out our nifty SAP! Aww look, a unicorn! |

Are you serious, that's easy because PSA violated the spirit of intentions. Those other company's are suffering form the RLA and a former climate that dictated their contract.

Yes, let's just sweep that gigantic elephant right under the rug there. Hey, maybe if we sniff enough glue, we'll forget it's even there!

You can live in whatever reality you choose and believe what ever you want to believe. I know my paycheck and days off are better than my friends at envoy who have more years of service. One of them (CLT commuter) has an interview with PSA next week as he has seen that you internet blowhards and tough talking line guys have no clue. Just stay in your envoy echo chamber, you seem to be happy being miserable.
That's ALL you can come back with, "My pay and benefits are great so I don't see a problem". Who is living in a false reality here?? You PSA'ers KNOW you undercut us, you KNOW you are perpetuating the whipsaw and empowering management to harass other work groups for concessions, but hey, your pay is good! People with that logic have no morals whatsoever. Then they wonder why no one respects them. Don't try to pull the "I'm new and wasn't a party to that whole thing" routine either. You knew their background and what's more, you're defending it. |

That is not how I see it. Mesa's CBA was soooooo bad that the company didn't even go after it in Ch11, they have been the lowest of the low for a long time now. Compass had a decent amount of leverage to at least match SKW and XJT in this last contract but opted for binding arbitration, why? Instead that received minimal gains and still have one of the lowest pilot cost per seat mile of any FFD carrier. Republic voted no but pilots continued to flock their from 2004-2012 to fly the mighty 170, maybe now they will finally start having serious staffing issues. SkyWest just agreed to a cost neutral agreement that has the 175 being flown for cheaper rates than the CR9 and they have horrible PBS language and scheduling rules. PSA has the best scheduling system of any FFD including LXJT (I would know as I was there for a long time). The SAP allows almost anyone to drop down to 65 hrs and get a lot of time off or pick back up and easily make over 100 credit hours a month, it might even be the most pilot friendly system in the industry. Enjoy your awesome new PBS system and Ch11 contract, I can see why your QOL is so bad. So keep picking on PSA while they make more money with more time off than Envoy, Mesa, Compass, Republic, and many other carriers that you defend.
Compass has the lowest cost per seat mile because they didn't exist a decade ago and those pilots that were around when they were created have already flowed and will continue to flow to Delta. So, that's a bargaining point? "We are the cheapest labor groups in the industry. Pay us more." The fact is, they had a decent contract and now they have a better one in most areas. I'd say they did a good job considering the bar PSA set. |
