Tool of the day /\

I absolutely agree with you. Often times I invite PSA pilots into the jumpseat then kick them off right before door closing. Sure I work for PSA too but we have to draw the line somewhere. You should see how confused they are.

Only problem was last time I did it I kicked off my friend who I was going to have beers with on the overnight. Viva la resistance!

Or go to engineering school like we all should have done in the first place.

Risk it all and commute for the airline with the most growth or give up and work for the airline where you live knowing they may close the base with little chance of upgrade anytime soon. Neither choice is wrong it just depends on how much of a QOL you are willing to give up and various other factors including age, family support and if your SO makes a paycheck. I live in an outstation and choose not to work for an airline that has bases in an outstation because I believe outstation basing will eventually be a thing of the past. There is no magic 8 ball and there are im sure, long term FO's at great airlines who would have, given the chance jumped ship to one of the worse contract airlines for an upgrade years ago. Its the same story repeated here at the regionals and there is no end in sight. I have the opinion that there is no reward without risk and if you are young you should take roll the dice, indecision is not your friend either. Today the ball is in the pilots court, good luck on the decision. Also I know my grammar sucks.

Ahh, what is this self respect you speak of? Not sure you and i have the same definition. Proudly denied jump seats? How much does your life suck that denying jumpseats gets your rocks off? Always a pleasure, i am a happy psa pilot :)

It's always great to see the internet jumpseat warlords. What a joke, so you'll deny someone a jumpseat trying to make an honest living or on the way home to see his wife/husband and kids? You must be a real prize to spend 4 days with. I would be happy to be denied, at least I would know who the punk is that's behind the screen name.

That is exactly what I did Pete. I went to engineering school, worked as an engineer for many years and got sick of it. And now, I am starting at a regional.
This is just to let you know that the pasture is not always greener at the other side of the fence!
