Everyone that is upgrading has at least 1000 hrs of 121 time, most have much more. Remember in 2007 when places like XJT or CHQ had a 2 year upgrade? Many of those FOs did not have have 1000 hrs yet, my buddy being one of them. Its not like CFIs are spending 6 months in the right seat and then upgrading. Back in the late 90s some regionals were upgrading FOs that hadn't completed initial training yet, I guess it might help you to know a little history first before putting a tasteless picture on here.

Where did I say that? Slow your role homey.
People are rushing to PSA because the recruiters are lying about the length of upgrade. I did the math already. A few PSA recruiters, ex car salesmen, tried to come in and dilute my math with outlier logic and misdirection, but it is the truth. I'm fine with people rushing off to PSA, but they need to know that within 6-9 months MAX, the upgrade time will be more on par with the companies you mentioned with such disgust( You know the ones that said no and made your pilferage possible I the first place). As new hire candidates become more aware of this, expect those used car salesmen to get worse about there multitude of lies. These people are no better than people like Roger Cohen IMHO.

Bottom line is these instructors are probably not the stop gap you think they are. They will acquiesce unknowingly towards complacency over time. Whether they have 1000 hours or not, it really is pretty low time to be in command of a 76 seat jet. Sure it's generally painting by numbers but I really don't want to see what happens when it's not.

Well then you should either fix your lie that is the staffing model, or get hold of some of your recruiters.

The instructors themselves are generally rookies too. Hell some guy on here said that over 100 FOs are in the training center and not upgrading.

FYI, they outlawed that last year when psa started upgrading again.. the people who teach upgrades are 4+ year instructors with line experience.

Whatever happened to the instructor/FO who had 170 hrs of sim and or IOE? Did that instructor ever get signed off? It use to be really bad -- the blind leading the blind. There was one who acted like he was an ol' salt and was teaching a lot of techniques, not procedures. Turns out Ace had less than 100 hrs of FO time. I sure hope that dept got squared away.

I don't understand what everyone is crying about here with experience. To be an FO you need the 1500 hours or equivalent, get an ATP and a type rating. To be a
Captain you need 1000 hours 121 time or equivalent. That is light years beyond what has been deemed acceptable over the last 10-15 years.
What more do you people want? Should we have folks from Endeavor come over and fill in the blanks? Oh wait we already do that.

What PSA recruiters are you guys referring too? Most people are just applying who want to work here, no recruiter required.
