I have herd rumors that PSA is starting to hire street capt's who will be next?
How about... Oh it's not even worth commenting

Not a DECs fault they don't want to work for poverty money as a regional FO.Originally Posted by FaceBiter

No one wants to become a street ca just to be bumped by several hundreds of fo's once they get their ours to upgrade. You'll be on the bottom of the barrel. Bad idea.

Ask all the guys that flocked to Mesaba to be Saab street captains how that worked out for them Originally Posted by diva

It is amazing how perspectives have changed recently. As a new hire years ago, I was just happy getting on as an FO somewhere that had a reasonable expectation of stability and minimal furlough risk by having a few people behind me.
Now, you are arguing that someone should avoid coming to PSA as a captain, with tangible plans of having ~600 pilots behind him. These captains cannot get "bumped" by upgrading FO's unless unlikely furloughs or reductions take place (unless by "bumped" you are referencing change in relative seniority); how is this any more risky than being at the bottom of any list? Is an applicant better off going to a stagnant regional as an FO?

You make it sound like PSA will still be an attractive place to come work for that 600th guy who gets hired next year. Guess you're not gonna remind him he'll forever be on the bottom of a saturated pilot group with a substantially weak flow to AA.Originally Posted by DOGIII

Oh yah, and where does PSA plan to vacuum all these pilots from? Sounds like all the guys considering lateral move to PSA have gotten cold feet and decided "it ain't worth it."
