I interviewed at PSA this week
for those of you who are wondering what's going on there, here are my notes from the interview:
17 CRJ 700 from Envoy, currently 2/mo, with possibility for 3/mo
AFTER all of those are received, 24 CRJ 900 straight from bombardier,
Next is 30 CR7 from Envoy.
NO plans to reduce CRJ 200 flying or have any leave the fleet. Currently on lease until 2018 or 2019.
BNA is the next rumored base, but no one that knows anything will comment. However, it will NOT be ORD or NYC area. BNA makes sense to them because of the MX base there.
One of the first things mentioned during the presentation was that they ARE currently hiring FOs, however they will all be placed in to a hiring pool, and we will be ranked during the interview.
Current focus is on hiring/training captains, may run a few small classes this summer of 10-20 FOs. Hoping to resume regular FO training classes in September, but no firm date.
Currently PSA has a lack of check airman and sim instructors, the majors are scooping them all up.
I have a friend at PSA who completed his ATP ride yesterday, it was his SIM instructor's last day, he's leaving for FedEx.
7 interviewees at CLT, one no show. All were cool guys, would have enjoyed flying with each of them. 1 current MIL guy about to separate, 1 in CLT ANG.
2 guys had thousands of hours of time, including 121, but both had been out of flying for around a year, and not current.
A few guys had 1000-1300 hours, told to call back when they have the time, one told me that they insinuated (but never directly said you're hired), that he would be offered a class in September when he has the time.
I am 135 current and flying the LR31 and Ce550/560, with 1486 hours. I was told to check my email for further communications, but not to expect anything sooner than 2 weeks from the interview date.
I like to think that I am a desirable candidate, with strong potential to pass training with minimal issues.
I will be in Mesa's 6/25 class on the CRJ 7/9.

Not a big fan of Mesa but if you really need to decide between just those two, it's the better choice right now IMO.

You forgot to mention PSA has NO flow-through agreement. All they have is a bs guarantee AA interview at a rate of 4/month which will take about...hmm.. +20 years. 
(1200active/4/mnth). Now imagine you screw up the interview and get rejected the position at AA after +20 years of waiting!?
If I was a new hire I'd choose a regional with a Actual Guarantee Flow-Through agreement (NO interview required) to AA. Envoy (gets 50% of all AA classes, 30/month) or Piedmont (3 per month). Think ahead & be ahead of the curve.

Much better than my current 12/2 schedule, flying 8-10 days a month and 20-40hrs. It's hard to be proficient when this is the case. Also at my current rate it would be 3-4 years before I make captain. I'm taking a pay and benefit cut to go to any regional, but I'm looking at is like a 3-4 internship for that job I really want down the road.
