Not sure where you applied, but Pinnacle hired hundreds of 250 peeps from Riddle, Jet U, ATP etc 05-07.

Just means that I know what I am capable of and will work to improve my weaknesses.

What I truly cannot stand and Hate with a passion is lazy captains who only want to put 1000 TPIC in the book. They dont try to learn or even do what is right. Rather they want to thump there chest with 4 stripe authority, but dont have the goods to back it up. Not everyone is like that but there are far more of these clowns than there should be
What do you suppose happens to these clowns when they try to go to the next step? Your desire to study, and work hard will pay off, the clowns eventually will wish they did.

Ha I can only guess what will happen. In the meantime Id hate to see a plane load of people buy the farm cause some numb nutz was a poor CA. But on the other hand I hate to admit, but this is how it is.

Basically im sayin is pilots need to use their heads and do what is right. Wouldnt want the public to view us lower than greyhound driver

Wait, I thought the post 9/11 environment was horrible for pilots, many of whom got furloughed and couldn't even get a CFI job. How were all these 250 hour pilots getting jobs??

Yeah, I know exactly to what type you're referring. It's the captain that whines that Delta hasn't called that he has 1000 hrs TPIC, but doesn't do **** else besides flying and crying.

Some do the minimum to get by in life. Others strive to excel and better themselves. Isn't it great living in a country where we can choose?

This isn't the GA world of wild emotions, crazy dreams, and doing extra curricular activities to be a "super pilot". Its about passing your next medical, passing your next line check, passing your next recurrent, and ensuring you have a pay check to survive until your kids are on their own, the house is paid off, and that you can actually retire without being in poverty.
I have my MEI, actually used it to make money, and at the time was viewed as a requirement. Completely useless rating now for my needs.

06/07 were hiring gangbusters at regionals. Most 2 classes a month and some w signing bonuses. I was grinding to get a grand to get on w Skywest or Horizon for the bases.(also best regionals at the time) Got talked into Pdt for a fast 18 month upgrade... 5000 hours in right seat later I got my upgrade. Seems to have all worked out though. 27 from starting as a new hire wout ever interviewing. And now 18 months is the upgrade time on the 190 lol. At 800 hours I was highest time guy in class. One got his multi rating in sims no joke.

Both are right. It depends on the airline. I've flown with some
That got hired with 250 hours and others hired six months later needed 3000 hours.

His statement was, while it was legal to get hired at 250, no one actually was hired. He isn't right. That's false. Many people did. Yes, many also had to wait to get 3000 hours, but to say no one was hired at 250 is not true.
