As the culture at Delta changes, things like career progression...flow or whatever it means...will change too.

We all used to laugh about hiring bonuses and Regional Airlines poaching pilots from each other. Thought is was crazy talk. We also know from history that they will do whatever it takes to put asses in seats when they need to. One thing is for sure though...a staple job is a wet dream!

A staple:
You don't understand this industry or you're new.
A B scale:
You don't understand history or you're new.

Listening to what an MEC member said in ground school:

You don't understand this industry or you're new.

There are lots of wet dreams. Hopping into a Delta Widebody with 250 hours and having the CEO on your Jumpseat and impressing him so much he just puts you in class. But they are just dreams. You can save this post forever: a regional airline will never get stapled on the bottom of a mainline seniority list. I overheard these rumors two years ago at a hotel bar by a group of erect Endeavor pilots. Still not gonna happen.

If this were anywhere close, why have the SSP pass rates been so pathetic the last few months?

One thing is for sure. Delta would be able to manage the staffing levels easier with a flow. Keep bodies here, and bring in more. Win win, but what the heck do I know ?

We're probably getting mandatory hats so we can practice for career progression. Maybe a bag tag that says, future Delta pilot. That's what to expect.
