Default Waiting period for health insurance

Is it pretty standard to have a 30/60 day waiting period for health insurance? Anyone able to get insurance at DOH or shortly thereafter?

I think NetJets is DOH everything else I've seen is 30-90 days. Piedmont thankfully was 60 days.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it I'm sure they're all relatively the same. I had health insurance right after sims at my carrier...probably just like everyone else here.

PSA was just shy of 90 days. I got a short term plan for coverage while I was waiting to be eligible for the company plan. Short term plan didn't cost an arm and a leg and was for just major things.

I have NEVER - EVER heard of a waiting period for health insurance at a new employer, except for maybe some pre-existing conditions. Are you guys kidding? The rest of the world goes from one job to another an simply swaps coverages. An IT guy at some computer place goes to another computer place and they simply end one insurance and begin another insurance. It's seamless. I can NOT believe these regional companies are offering 'hiring bonuses' and then pulling crazy shenanigans like buying health insurances with waiting periods??? Caveat Emptor.

Delta Air Lines has a 6 month waiting period for health insurance.

It's not just regionals. Increased health costs in recent years made a lot of companies (in every industry) change the initial waiting period.

This is the normal in pretty much all of corporate America now. It has been for several years. It is not just airlines.

It may not be a perfect solution, but you have 60 days to elect COBRA coverage from your prior employer after you leave your last job. At that point you then have 45 days to bring the premiums current, which would be both the employer and employee contribution.
