The more you know the more you realize you don't know. I just busted out the second systems book for the Merlin and there's all kinds of things I have no idea about lol. I just don't see how knowing what controls each generator is important to me. I know how to use it, it's limits, and when to shut it off and call the mechanic. I never cared how it was built and different from others.

Don't stress all the engineering details - Know what's pertinent to piloting the aircraft - you can dumb down the systems to a certain degree in your interview - Mostly they are looking for someone who can ADMIT they DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING! If you start BSing your way through systems that doesnt look too good - if you don't know somthing....just admit it!! Shrug it off and Keep a good attitude

I'd be careful busting in there with the Merlin stuff. Chances are you will be asked which aircraft you want to talk about. I don't know how much experience you have with the Merlin but if its been limited or not very in-depth you could find yourself in a tough spot if the guy sitting across from you has upteen bazillion hours in the Merlin. I would go with whatever twin you have the most time in. Just a thought.

Hopefully they don't grill you on IFR procedures, stabilized approaches or how to go direct to a random point in space using a GPS Best of luck to you.

Oh nooooooo you didn't! Let them. I've mastered that thing after installing all the software. As far as which twin I have the most time in that's the Merlin. I only have about 130hrs multi. It isn't that I don't know the airplane. The thing is, as could be with any twin, it has its very technical aspects. I'll admit what I don't know as everyone here should already know lol. It's just how often do you look at the electrical schematic for the aircraft you're in? I've never been good and understanding those. I know how to use my LH essential bus and transfer it to the RH essential bus ect. But it's drawing it out that worries me. however if I have to just use rote memory I will. I have enough days to memorize it. You just never know if you're going to get someone with the... "How can you fly the aircraft NOT KNOWING how the reverse flow voltage regulator works?" when in reality it's pretty easy. Just hit the start button and it does it on its own.
