Once again, thanks for all of your help on this forum. It sounds like I've been on the right track so far. I'll just keep on keepin' on.

What do you recommend someone studies for the IFR test. I have been flying corporate for quite a while so I have no idea what these questions will be like. Thanks...

Holding pattern entries. FAF on an ILS. Speed restrictions. If you've been flying IFR you should know these but I recommend reading the AIM and/or practice FAA exams.

Good info. I'm really looking forward to my interview next week. Is the HR/Tech interview together? From what I've gathered, I understand it to be more HR with a few tech q's about basic aircraft systems. I'm studying the AIM and reviewing a/c systems. Is there any certain aircraft the interview focuses on? [most flown, most complex, twin recently flown, or all of the above] Mesaba sounds like a great place to work.

AIM and Pilot/Controller Glossary. Things like: What does the phrase "CLEARED AS FILED" not include? What is D-ATIS? Examples of ATC instructions vs. clearances, MSA, MVA, etc. etc.

Default Mesaba Interview

  1. Interview is written test concentrating on FAR's, AIM, Jepp Charts
  2. Drug Test
  3. Sim eval (basic attitude, climbs, etc. with a approach and hold)
  4. Interview talking about your experiences and systems of current aircraft.(with HR and a chief pilot)
Hope that helps
