AAAAAAHH!
I can check everyone of those except the "pilot" watch and I'm by no means ready for the regionals...
I'll try to explain:
-Hair GeL: My hair looks terrible without - I appear to have a head the size of a big pumpkin without gel
-Backpack: For school
-I-Pod: C'mon, whats wrong with that? It's a great thing to have when bored...
-Oakley sunglasses: I have them for sailing. I am concerned about my eyes because I don't want them to keep me from becoming a pilot. When sailing the sun is very intense and as I am a sailing instructor I spend many hours on the water during the summer. Oakleys and Ray Bans just are of a very high quality and it is good for the eyes to wear quality sunglasses.
-Watch: I guess I have a "normal" watch - not a pilot watch. It's a good metal watch, nothing more. No big brand name there.

Oh yeah -I'm 16 and am a glider student so I'm nowhere near the regionals (or any commercial flying unfortunatly)

All the best
-Jakob

I guess a serious answer to the question would be that your ready whenever you feel confident that you can perform the duties necessary, and pass the training.

If you don't stumble on the radios, don't have trouble briefing an approach, aren't gonna panic if ya hit some IMC / icing, love to fly, are able to live off a raman and water diet, etc etc.

If you don't think your ready, your probably not.

Sorry...it's a vague question that is catered to an individual, so it's difficult to answer.

Wow, I have an iPod and a backpack, and I think I have some hair gel. Screw this HR crap--I wanna be a pilot!

All those things are perfectly OK, just not while wearing the uniform of a professional pilot...

Hair Gel- It's just the new age of pilots, get over it guys. Gel is here to stay.

Ipod- Acceptable only when waiting- NOT IN COCKPIT, NOT WALKING WITH YOUR BAGS.

Backpack- Completely gay.

Oakley- I've got 'em, and I can't imagine a day without them.

Which ones do you have? I can't even wear mine flying...my headset drills them into my skull.

Do you wear full headsets in the 340? I would imagine you do.....I have the DC H10-13s. Right now I wear military style glasses with the flat sides but I'd like something a little more hip.
