I'll try to explain:
-Hair GeL: My hair looks terrible without - I appear to have a head the size of a big pumpkin without gel
-Backpack: For school
-I-Pod: C'mon, whats wrong with that? It's a great thing to have when bored...
-Oakley sunglasses: I have them for sailing. I am concerned about my eyes because I don't want them to keep me from becoming a pilot. When sailing the sun is very intense and as I am a sailing instructor I spend many hours on the water during the summer. Oakleys and Ray Bans just are of a very high quality and it is good for the eyes to wear quality sunglasses.
-Watch: I guess I have a "normal" watch - not a pilot watch. It's a good metal watch, nothing more. No big brand name there.

Oh yeah -I'm 16 and am a glider student so I'm nowhere near the regionals (or any commercial flying unfortunatly)

All the best
-Jakob
I should have clarified;

Gel is OK to keep the hair styled and looking professional. I use it too, but only because I'd look like eraser head if I didn't. Something has to keep the hair down on my head. When you have it gelled/spiked like Mark McGrath and the tips are frosted, thats a little too much. In fact, it borders on less than straight.

Backpack, not bad. Clip it to our overnight bag, DON'T WEAR THE FREAKING THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I-pod, great. Just not in uniform while walking through the terminal, with your Oakley's on.

And lastly, the Oakley's. I wear them too. They are my presciption eye glasses as well and prescription sunglasses. They make excellent eye wear with superior frame and lense quality. Ray-ban's are good also. I just recently lost a pair I had for 5 years. I'm depressed over it. Again, just take them off when walking in the terminal.

I've never found a pair of Oakleys that I like...on me.

Spy's for me.

No gel for me, I use Murrays, but checking it off the list.

I don't have a backpack anymore, but will go buy one.

Ipod, check. Will charge the battery up before the interview.

Guess I'm ready!

HRChick, maybe you could attract more guys to Skyway by having some free things provided at training? Like a one month supply of gel, and $10 off coupons for new backpacks? =)

Imp

p.s. - I hate frosted tips on hair....in fact, I dislike any kind of color combinations in guys hair. One color please.

Neither can I, so I have to tilt the frames a bit, so the arms go above the ear seals...actually works a lot better than one would think, and I wouldn't wear anything else. Oakley makes a superior product.

When is one ready for the regionals? In my opinion, when they've done their research to determine which company is best for them...all too many are jumping without looking at where they're going to be landing, it seems.

And of course no frosted tips! That's terrible just as ImperialxRat said, guys should have one hair color. Not more!

Walking through the terminal with sunglasses is a no go anyway, isn't it? I always thought wearing sunglasses inside was impolite and unprofessional...

One more thing I love about my Oakleys is that they really fit my head really well and I can also wear them for skiing as they really fit perfectly.

I'll be buying RayBans for my glider flying soon. They have nice and big glasses and I believe that would be the most comfortable option for me.

And I hate the backpack but it is just the most useful thing for school. I wear it nowhere else.

Why, You work at Midwest. Semi-fun is it not? Milwaukee is a fun city. Been there many times. Especially Summer Fest in June-July. I'll take the HR thing. That way I can reject all the LOW-TIME, HIGH-EGO pilots that seem to be on this board looking for a JET PILOT job with a student pilot logbook full of 152/172 time. Eeeeek!

Be a low time (300 hrs) high-ego (like major / legacy captains), jet (supersonic tinker-toys) pilot flying a "thousand miles per hour with your hair on fire" at age 25. Go AF or Navy.

Forgive me. Couldn't resist that.
