True, but I don’t think 500 pilots being lifers prolongs your prison sentence. If anything it helps. That’s 500 less pilots you have to compete with to move on to delta. I know you don’t have a flow, but the guaranteed interview is better than nothing. Its also 500 pilots the rest of us don’t have to compete with either for moving on to a major carrier. You might have an older pilot group so I’m sure you’d have some lifers anyways, but I would guess your pay rates have turned a lot of your pilots into lifers that may not have been before.

If we had your pay, I’m sure we’d have significantly more people wanting to stay also. If our top 500 pilots weren’t leaving i would have have flowed by now and for new hires that would mean they would only have to move up 1300 numbers on the seniority list rather than 1800 like they do now.
