Default Earning potential

What is your of opinion the regionals/s right now with more earning potential? QOL apart. First 3-5 years.

I guess things to consider would be bonuses, pay-scales, open time, etc...

Not saying is the right reason to choose a carrier but....

If you hustle you can make 6 figures your first year at ZW with the bonuses. Hourly kinda sucks but open time pickups are at 150% and critical is 200%. Savvy bidders were getting 150+ hours of credit a month. I've heard rumors of 200. Captain upgrade in a year(ish), likely 6 figures year two if you hustle to make up for the training months. YMMV, upgrade time may increase, open time reduced, etc. It's all a guessing game really. Past performance is not an indication of future results etc.

You'll be paying for that money in other ways though...

Most other airlines FO pay, especially after first year is more than the 3 American wholly owned’s captain pay.

Is it really that big of a difference? I'm told skywest has lots of open time, so even if you make a bit less per hour, you're able to credit more at the end of the month? (just asking).

Only in very large bases is there a lot of open time. Republic gets block or better so that's a good 5% right there.

Why chase money at the regionals? You should go to whatever will get you to a major quickest.

Because life happens and maybe money shirt term can help out some people, simple.
More open time, more flying, the sooner you can get to a major, right?
