The bigger threat is increasingly distracted ATC as this drags on.

Because not enough staff = closed checkpoints. Closed checkpoints = reduced (or eliminated) access to airside. This will inhibit traveling, and deter passengers. You know, the people who pay us.
What no one is mentioning is how this is gutting federal law enforcement ... investigations stalling and informants being lost because there are no funds. Oh wait, perhaps we can privatize law enforcement too...

This is such b.s. Does anyone really think that pilots, mechanics, the TSA, FAA or ATC aren't doing their job professionally because their pay is delayed? Seriously?!

TSA are making pre-Colgan crash regional pilot pay, aka less than a McDonald’s employee.
You start to make ‘comfortable’ pay at ATC after 2 years, depending on facility assignment and qualifications. However, just because you make good money, doesn’t mean you’re saving it. Most people live paycheck to paycheck nowadays.
There is nothing bull about this article. It’s a fact. When you don’t get paid, it’s slave labor. Nobody loves their job that much to show up or work at full performance when no money is coming in and the mortgage, utilities and credit score isn’t frozen with the paycheck...

Corporations exist to make a profit, and not to serve the public good. Labor, the public, and the environment are ripe for exploitation whenever profit is the primary motivation of behavior.
