Default Interview - Written Test & Mil Hours?

Has anyone interviewed with PSA or ExpressJet lately and could attest to whether or not there is a written test? I’ve been using airlineinyerviews to help prep for my interviews and it shows one but it might be outdated.

Also, PSA wants me to take my military hours totals and put them as one line in a civilian logbook prior to the interview. What is more official than my actual military documents? I don’t even have a civilian logbook. Besides the fact that they can easily be manipulated? Maybe I’m missing something here? Thoughts anyone?

Thanks!!

Yeah. That you are applying to them, not them asking you to dictate what procedures they should be using to hire you. If buying a civilian logbook or electronic log which you will ultimately require anyway and making a one line synopsis entry seems excessively taxing to you perhaps you should apply elsewhere.

There won’t be a written test.

As far as your logbooks go, just go ahead and consolidate into one logbook and print it out at some place like Kinkos. It’s something you’ll want to do at some point anyway, so just consolidate them now. Have your military log books handy at the interview.

None of the guys in my class at expressjet had to take the written portion of the interview. A couple guys had to do the sim portion but that’s because they weren’t actively flying or havnt been doing anything as far as IFR flying goes.

You definitely want to start keeping a civilian log book for interviews with the majors, but do some research to make sure you are logging it correctly. There is a difference between how the military, FAA and airlines themselves want you to log time. Maybe even an electronic logbook.
I do agree with the single line entry.

Didn’t take long for someone to act like a d*****bag. How about you answer his question and move on? Orrrr.... stay with me here.... ignore his post...? But I guess the keyboard warrior in you just had to say something... all while making you look like a real d***. Must be proud.

No written exam anymore at expressjet.

There is a sim if you’re not current. It’s XPlane on a desktop computer with a cheap throttle and yoke. I took it and passed.

Interesting-I didn't know that. They used to put non-current people in the actual sim, but as hiring and training picks up, there probably isn't enough sim time for that anymore.
