You just seem to have this disgust for the working class citizen, that's all. I could be wrong, you may actually be genuinely shocked that a guy making minimum wage isn't out there sprinting to your aircraft or answering your requests with a loud and crisp "YES SIR!!" while snapping to attention.

Rampers should absolutely hustle to meet an inbound flight to their best of their ability and to the extent weather and ramp conditions permit. That’s the job they signed up for and I guratantee when they went through orientation and training, this urgency was emphasized.

You get what you pay for! Plus there aren't many boy scouts at that level, at least not for long. Their mechanics are exactly the same, that should scare you!

Regionals business model is built around washing the weak ones out.
Is it easier or is SWA just a tad bit more selective?

De facto, their job is the minimum it takes not to get fired. It's only business.

You know what you should do then? The next time one doesn't hustle to your satisfaction, complain and get them fired. I am sure the guy that comes in and replaces him in this minimum wage job will be much better.

Seeing as how I did 22 years in the military as a mechanic/crew chief, two years line service in DAL at an fbo, then ramper at SWA in LAS years ago, I promise you I took pride in my job and made way less than most of the ramp rats make nowadays.
I don't have any "disgust" for working class citizens. We're all working class citizens in case you can't figure that out. I have disgust for people KNOWINGLY not doing the damn job they CHOSE to do. I'm not talking about rampers who do a great job. I'm talking about the ones who play games, drag their feet on purpose, causing undue delays at the gate.
Sounds like you're more concerned defending those who don't give a crap about their jobs than a solution to the problem.
