I have been in the industry a long time. I love the flying and getting the job done.
What I don't like and why I am the chief whiner is that it seems as though the airlines deliberately make the life of the employees tough even though it does not gain them anything. There is a mentality of 'screw the workers, they are just our pawns'. That is what I hate.
If I felt we were on the same team it would be different.
But airline management is largely inept, ignorant, naive and greedy. There are good ones, to be sure, but most think that they will do better by screwing employees just to screw them.
I like the challenges of aviation, but am burned out trying to fight against managers who don't wish to solve issues. Rather they want to make life difficult for employees. Do I really believe this? Yes. Just look at my company.

Honestly if you want to get laid on a trip, go to the hotel bar and hit on the moms/chics at the hotel bar, they are bored, lonely, and will find it exciting to have a one night stand with a pilot, believe me............

My theory is that management is always trying to increase the misery envelope. If the workers got too satisfied and happy they might expect it all the time. It is better to strive to create crummy schedules and miserable working conditions so the employees are braced for the hard times and don;'t expect to much.
