XJT vs RPA

Seems like they both have junior EWR base which can be assigned while in training.

Where can I make more money 1st and/or 2nd ?

XJT isn’t assigning aircraft based on preference and right now they are putting most new hires on the 175 which doesn’t have an EWR base. I think this will change soon and they will start hiring to the 145 again but if you started class Monday you would likely get the 175 in IAH with an 18 month seat lock.

Pay first year at XJT is going to be around 2 months training pay at 65 hrs x $40 per hour. Then 75 hrs minimum on the line x $40 per hour. Add in 3 EQOs at $2500 plus $22,000 bonus and first 12 months is about $64,700. 2nd year min 75 hrs at $40 per hour plus 4 EQOs at $2500 each comes out to $46,000. If you bump that up to 85 hrs per month flying it would be $68,700 first year and $52,800 second year.

Many new hires are getting the 175, but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of 145 spots available, especially for EWR.

Is that a guarantee $2500 every quarter regardless of hours worked?

Pretty much show up for work and fly your schedule.

Yes if you get the min credit due to being on reserve or whatever you still get the EQO.

ExpressJet and Republic aren’t even in the same category. YX 100%.

5-year 175 CA base pay comparison:

EV: $72,900
YX: $89,460*

*Jan 1 2020 pay increase.

Not to mention you’re NOT going to hold 175 CA after 5 years anyway at EV. So even if you’re a 5-year CA on the 145, that’s a measly $69,300. What’s the most junior CA on the 175 at EV?

Don’t sell yourself for less. QOL at YX is drastically better too. Just read through some of these forums.

Your EV figure does not include the EQO.

I believe XJT new hires are now given a choice of aircraft. This year I’m on track to gross about 75,000 as a commuter FO with about 650 block hours and avg 15 days off. So you can make plenty if you live in base, just know how to arrange your schedule and pick up premium flying. Our contract is on par with any other in the industry outside of trip and duty rigs.
