I found it funny when I found that a certain company in C Concourse in ATL received some Environment Work Friendly Award a couple years back. I've always been tempted to call them up again and ask them to do a reassessment of the current situation. It's really something below being in the slums of a dirty city. It's getting really really bad. There isn't even a water cooler to fill up a water bottle or anything! There's a water fountain, but yeah....I don't have to add any creative comments about that.

ASA isn't that bad as long as you keep positive, but I have to admit that it just keeps on getting harder with all the rumors going around. I just want something to happen soon so that I could finally just make the move or just get out. It's ugly really.

I started late 2005. I was on reserve for 2 months on the CRJ-200 and then held a relief line for 3-4 months. The relief lines were mostly reserve days but when you finish your trip you don't have to call in to scheduling. Since then I've held 4 on 3 off working weekends. Some people here have low morale, others don't. I fly, I leave, repeat.

“Liquefied?” Wow John Pennekamp that was dramatic. So you must be the guy who always puts the Soap channel on in the pilot lunge... All this time I thought it was the flight attendants.

I doubt ASA will be “liquefied...” What general consensus were you speaking of? Airlines both regional and major have faced much worse than what ASA's management is putting it through. Even if the goal were for ASA to be merged they'd have a hell of a time merging the pilot groups… SKY maintains much more control keeping us separated. The last thing SKY wants is ALPA. Not to mention transitioning the Aircraft from ASA to another airline would take much longer than two years especially as attrition picks up at every regional.

While we're blatantly making supposition fact I guess I could blurt out another rumor based "consensus" that affirms that Delta will buy back ASA. *GASP!*

What does this mean? Absolutely nothing...

SKY has a good deal going, but ASA is not the hell that all the Barbies are making it out to be.

It's funny how everyone thinks ASA attrition is a bad thing... The more people leave for Delta, Southwest, FedEx and CAL the faster you climb the list. Upgrade time shortens etc. The FO's that leave to go spend another year on probation and first year pay somewhere else for what? Everyone knows how fast **** changes in the regionals. Think of the airlines that were the "best" just few years ago. Where are they now? Comair for example. Contract? Everyday that goes by is a day closer to a contract. With 2 days of mediated talks later this month we are moving closer to a contract or strike. Delta cannot afford to let us strike right after they come out of bankruptcy. Everyone says Skywest is a threat when it comes to flying our routes while we are on strike... Get real, they don't have the manpower or planes to hault the damage caused by an ASA strike. I don't even know how people think that the FAA would just sit back and allow Skywest to fly ASA planes either. It takes somewhere around a month and 700 grand to change an ASA CR7 over to Skywest and vice versa. So, I doubt they will spend the cash and time to convert all the paperwork of all of our jets durring an ASA strike. Skywest cannot afford us to strike either. Imagine the plumeting stock price of Skywest if ASA goes on strike. (Hint: sell it now while you can if you own it) So, you can base your career and future on the halfassed opinions on this retarded board... Or just get off your ass and get seniority number somewhere instead of just talking about it. Number 2... You never exactly know who will hire you and who will turn you down. I've seen some of the best pilots get turned down when everyone was positive they would be hired. Once again this is just my opinion before those of you decide you want to wage a verbal war over my post. Opinions are like....well you all know the saying.

minfuel, attrition is bad at asa because you got attrition from the wrong end. FO's are leaving, but captains are parking themselves there for a loooong time. Isnt that why upgrade times arent super fast there?

i really want to see you guys get a good contract. if they screw you over again, i hope you guys strike. 4 or 5 years or whatever its at now is way too long and the ball is in your guys court
