I live in Texas and definitely don’t pay out of state tuition. Now, as you get into higher level classes they become a bit more expensive.

Turns out the advisor I spoke to on the phone spoke a lot of non sense.

Not just about the tuition but other things too.

I spoke to someone at the aviation department and they cleared it all up for me. Online aviation program has fixed tuition rates at around 300 per credit.

Does anyone know if the majors require the degree to be aviation or can it be anything?

As long as its from a accredited college it could be in basket weaving and not make a difference. I'd suggest something that has a broad stroke of use like a business degree.

Texas A&M University-Central Texas is the way to go then. It's the best bargain and is the only in-state fully online BS Aviation Science degree. They'll also credit your certs from any flight school.

Edit: I'm dumb... I mentioned this earlier too. It just makes it a better school too if your a TX resident.

It depends on the airline. The type and quality of a degree will certainly be a factor in a decision to higher a individual. A degree in aeronautical engineering from MIT is going to get a lot more weight over a degree in alternative religions from EasyU.

Curious... what's a REAL college?

How is that measured? What are the thresholds to meet the criteria of REAL college? Who determines what a REAL college is?

I’m pretty sure he means a brick and mortar school that also offers online degree programs. As opposed to ones like Trident University International that are online only and are basically degree mills.
