The Air Group decides what FOQA information is released to the pilots, not the Unions. Its because they're terrified of a press leak (the SEA Times isn't Air Group friendly) that they don't put anything out to the pilots.

“He urged the pilot leadership team to sit in the jumpseat whenever possible when flying Horizon so they could point out to the flight crew any mistakes and “remind the pilots to strictly adhere to procedures.”
Does QX have a Manager that’s a current and qualified CA on the Q400? I can’t imagine how that conversation would go when a Jumpseating manager is telling a crew how to fly an airplane they can’t even complete training in. Sounds like superb CRM.

Horizon is probably one of the safest airlines out there, i don't know what JH's deal is.
It's true about the FOQA program, every gatekeeper quit when JH demanded all information be turned over to management so they could go after individual pilots.

Pilots can get individual foqa data if it's related to them and a flight they performed (if both pilots agree). At least that's how it was always done in the past.

The thing about statistics is that the odds only work over a long period of time. Yes there will be outlier weeks. It was indeed a bad week but also featured wind gusts to 50kts and holiday travel. FOQA is a good tool but the basics of math apply. One bad week does not an unsafe airline make. The airplane and the airports served are typically more challenging than average and the pilots are very proud of their safety record!

Most aren’t at all familiar with the flying QX does everyday; QX didn’t pursue & attain Cat III certification (and ability to fly RNP approaches) because they were bored and/or had a bunch of spare change sitting around!
