The AA wholly owned flow is going to be an unknown timetable going forward. The quesion is will they be able to keep up with replacements at the regional. I think it's guaranteed they will never flow them out of of existance. Yes south florida is very expensive.

Aren’t the new ATRs glass cockpits though?

Doesn't seem to matter much. They hire based on statistics, and I don't think they differentiate between glass cockpit and old skool turboprops.

People definitely get hired with prop time only (121 is way better in that regard), but statistically you're at a disadvantage. Something to consider, but I wouldn't necessarily rule it out completely.

lots of silver FOs have found their way to Spirit and Frontier. both have an MCO base and NK has an FLL base. but as far as legacies I have not heard much.

if you want to live in south FL i would say American, Jetblue, and Spirit would be my top choices in that order. if AA is your end goal and you are not a military fixed wing pilot, go to Envoy. Jetblue seems to like Republic pilots if that is your goal, but ive also seen alot of Skywest guys go there recently as well.

Q400 folks don’t seem to be having trouble either.

I'd aim an hour north up in palm beach county. Palm Beach Gardens is nice and you can find rent for not too high. Atleast when I lived there.

It is nice and a little less expensive up that way, but it is also a much older crowd with limited to no nightlife. Miami is a lot more crazy fun for the younger crowd (I've made some good memories here), but forget about it on less than $100k/year.

Used to live in gardens. It's gotten expensive since I left. Was a great area though. Decent schools.

The crowds are moving up North. To avoid the high rents, you need to keep going North. In 15 years time you'll be forced to live inland to find cheap rent anywhere in Florida, if not sooner.

If you've ever been to Orlando then you know this has already happened. There is nothing cheap in Central Florida anymore at all.
