I think we'll make some gains. I just hope we set the new standard with this thing. RAH has kinda become a place where the lines are blurred between your traditional regional and the next step. Lots of folks here see the 170 as a reason not to leave.

This one is going to take awhile...and it won't be fun. But, I've got nothing to do for the next couple years but fly my lil' 50 seat jet so I'm down for a scrap.

Don't hold your breath. I do not believe this pilot group will take a stand. They will still be shafted (maybe at a slightly higher rate)

You have no clue on this one. If you are not a member of this group or dating/married to someone in the group, you know nothing.

i agree with ellen for a change. no disrespect for rah, and im a union supporter, but for each month they are able to stall negotiations, the comany makes money. they are going to screw the pilots beyond belief just by playing that game. it just depends on how much hardball the pilot group wants to play, which judging by most regionals, is going to lead to pretty weak results. with that being said, gooooo teamsters stick it to em!

The way I interpret what Ellen is saying is that the pilot group will cave on the companies demands. I say no way.

We shall see. Airlines are armed with much more information than the pilot group.

As always, pilots go into negotiations with pistols and loud mouths and management arrives with several tanks, airsupport and flanking ground personnel.

the company will "cave" into the pilot group, only after making them work under their current pay rates for as long as possible. when i mean cave your barely going to see a couple % points a year which is about on par with every other regional but the company will still manage to keep them flying 70 seaters for a lot less then they and anybody flying 70 seater's deserve. the union will tout this as a great victory, most pilots will think they have won even tho they are only making 20 grand a year flying a 70 seater, and management will have really won in the end.

yeah i am sure everyone thinks its great you have 70 seaters... too bad if that flying was done by a 100 seater both pilots would be making twice to triple what your bringing home. no disrespect to rah. i am just ****ed at how some people view regionals as a great place to retire because they get to fly a "big" airplane

There is a pay rate for the 175 that actually is a decent increase over the 145 and 170. The breakdown is at 70 seats (I'll have to check my contract). Since the 175 has like 76 or something like that, the pay goes up. I think the fact that we have the pay scale for the 190 keeps some sticking around. It is mostly the people who have been here the longest. The newer captains I've flown with are all trying to get on with a major.

The pilots aren't caving on anything. As far as the company stalling. That doesn't matter too much. Our contract is pretty good, for a regional, so we aren't really losing anything by holding out for something better. We can stall too.
