My grandma used to tip $.50. No matter what. Cup of coffee? $.50. 7 course meal where the bill was several hundred dollars? $.50.

Both my parents tip 15% max, pre-tax. And in Seinfeld-ian fashion, they round down.

I'm a 18-19% post-tax tipper at restaurants. Shoeshine? I'll give the guy or gal a 20. Bars? 2 bucks a drink. Crew transportation? 2 bucks a ride.

Also, for the love of all that's Holy, please stop talking in the van about how much money you make. I'm sure the van drivers would appreciate it.

I recall not too long that a guy who talked about his boats and houses in the van, didn't bother to tip. That kind of stood out to me.

I’ve had a $20 a few times and the driver doesn’t have change, also have not had any cash and just went on my way. Had a FA give me grief for not tipping when I was out of cash. Driver didn’t have time to wait for me to hit the ATM, get change and pay him. If folks are just not tipping then bad on them, but there are times when it just doesn’t work.

The CA used to tip for the crew and be reimbursed through an entry made by the S/O on the pay sheet, for all to see.
False claims would invite crew scorn, and maybe worse.

The driver should always have change, if he wants a tip. Especially if he's made a few runs already.

Yeah, that's my philosophy. Especially since a driver shouldn't have to go to the bank to get ones, since he gets plenty of them on the job.

I tip $400 per ride minimum. I'm also the world's best pilot and my landings are smoother than yours. Abracadabra, you lose. Bye.

Entitled much? “Us FO’s” are making plenty of money now and the difference in pay at the regions is much closer.

I have never once thought to myself, “I think the captain should pay for this”.

Plenty of FOs take a pay cut when they upgrade.
Senior FO with all the perks to junior reserve CA often means less money.

So maybe "us FO's" should pay for CA's beer?
