If you don't tip the van driver your a cheap a$$ futher mucker. Its a few dollars a day. It's also customary. You get TAX FREE perdium to cover expenses. If you don't tip the van diver you obviously never worked in the service industry.
If you don't carry cash with you you're a dumb a$$. At least $100 just in case. Things happen in our business where you'll wish you had cash with you.

With all the ripping off and poor customer service, I almost never take a cab. Especially not since Uber/Lyft became popular. On the rare occasion that I do use a cab or ride service, I tip if I am provided exceptional service, including baggage handling. The last time the hotel used a cab to get us to the airport, the driver never bothered to get out of his seat, the car was dirty, and it smelled like he had just finished his favorite tobacco product. No tip.

I have worked in the service industry and my wife works in it full time, so you can take your sanctimonious attitude and go back to doing something else. If the general thought is, "we are not tipping the driver for driving, but for handling our bags", why does someone who handles their own bags need to tip? I want to add once again, that I dont think any reasonable person applying for a job as a HOTEL van driver doesn't expect to carry bags, but still, I will agree to disagree on that one.
In addition, the average hourly rate for a van driver is $14.06, not the same as someone in the restaurant service industry.
The effective national minimum wage is $11.80, so van drivers, not including tips are above the national average. I am not saying that is great money by any means, but it is money and it is for a job that requires no skill other than what every 16 year old in the country is capable of, so the barrier to entry is extremely low.

This thread is ridiculous. Why don’t you non tippers just come out and say “I don’t tip because I’m a tight wad” instead of making all these excuses.
I flew with a captain many years ago. We went out to lunch. He threw a tantrum because the restaurant wasn’t going to give us a discount since neither of us brought our airline ID’s. Eventually, after getting the manager involved, they relented and gave us a discount.
After devouring all his food the captain declared his meal unsat and said he wouldn’t be leaving a tip. Unbeknownst to him I left a tip to cover both our meals.
What I’m reading here reminds me of that. Just say it, “I don’t tip because I’m a tight wad”

The "always tip the driver" crowed seem like a group of fanatics, good lord. Let people be themselves and let them live their lives, you have no idea the reasons someone may or may not. If you want us all to be considered "tight wads", what about those like myself that often do tip, but not always? Part time "tight wad"?

Because the world isn't black and white. There could be very valid reasons someone doest tip a van driver. You want it to be as simple as "tight wad" but there can be legit reasons beyond that. Your example is a crappy one, which is tantamount to stealing from the restaurant, so nice try at smearing people as criminals or thieves for not tipping a van driver.

What happens if they think I am a cheap &^%( like you call me, but then I buy the crew dinner on my credit card? Oh my, I guess the world is more than black and white. I am surprised all the heads of people are not blowing up all over town with these grey area happenings. How do you sleep at night?
