I think St Christopher will forgive you for not tipping the maniacs that drive the prison vans.
- sit at breakfast buffet for 4 hrs
- switch out light bulbs
- take remote control batteries
- take toilet paper
- take toiletries
- don’t clean their uniform

I love doing it. It makes me feel better than you for not conforming.
Also your reasoning doesn’t make much sense. So you shouldn’t say thank you if you don’t hand someone money? They provided the basic service they are there for. Nothing exceptional deserving a tip. Loading and unloading bags isn't exceptional.
Us who don’t tip are better than all of you who do. You just wish you had the balls to rise above.

Seems like taking out the remote control batteries would be noted by the hotel staff, especially if you stay there repeatedly.
